In 1999 Jolente De Keersmaeker, Damiaan De Schrijver, and Sara De Roo created Alles is rustig, after Thomas Bernhard's Über allen Gipfeln ist Ruh (Over All The Mountain Tops).

Thomas Bernhard took the title of his play from one of Goethe's poems. The main character, Moritz Meister (Damiaan De Schrijver), is a celebrated author who has just finished his masterpiece, the tetralogy. With his wife (Sara De Roo) he leads a quiet secluded life in a picturesque house in the German lower Alps. The only thing Meister still needs to be perfectly happy is the expected Nobel Prize. The couple receives a visitor, Miss Werdenfels (Jolente De Keersmaeker), a bespectacled doctoral student. Everyone admires Meister, but he is his own greatest admirer.

Bernhard lashes out against the vanity, conceit and self-indulgence of the cultured classes and intellectuals who watch the world from the sidelines and can only spout hollow rhetoric. He ruthlessly ridicules national-socialism and the Teutonic ideal.
